Melissa Vickers is the Content / Article Writer, and CO Owner at CaperLive.
Melissa likes exploring the woods looking for geocaches and hopes to someday get over her irrational fear of snakes so she can enjoy the woods even more! Melissa has a real passion for the tourism industry and a love for Cape Breton Island. She is an avid reader and will spend countless hours looking for fun and random facts about the island.
She feels Cape Breton is full of wonderfully talented artisans, musicians and other tradesmen who are dedicated to their craft that are often overlooked or never even heard of. Melissa would like to change that by giving these gifted people the recognition they deserve through CaperLive.ca.
To complete this goal, Melissa went to school at Nova Scotia Community College - Marconi Campus focusing her attention to marketing. NSCC gave her the opportunity to test her entrepreneurial skills with the “Y.E.S.” (Your, Entrepreneurial Self) program’s Ideas Competition, where she pitched her idea of CaperLive.ca and received positive feedback and ideas on how to make CaperLive.ca a successful business. NSCC also gave Melissa a once in a life time opportunity… Dine with a Legend… a supper with the Dragon’s Den Arlene Dickinson. Arlene’s speech gave Melissa the final inspiration she needed to make CaperLive.ca a reality.
